BROADCAST OPPORTUNITY FOR SHORT FILMS
Monday, May 18, 2009 at 9:51AM Goolarri TV (GTV-35) in Broome, Western Australia is showcasing Australian short films and is looking for content. We are a remote, not for profit television station broadcasting (with a narrow cast license) to the township of Broome. It is Indigenous owned and operated. Although we obviously have an Indigenous slant, we communicate to the whole town of Broome - and a large following from visiting tourists. We are indeed unique and well respected nationally. Goolarri was recognised with an interactive exhibition by the National Museum in Canberra. Our TV broadcast consists of a rotation of eclectic short form content. We play a variety of short films, animations, video art works, music videos (both indigenous and current main stream), local stories, some native language stories, segments and short pieces about the Kimberley region. We broadcast no mainstream TV programmes (except music videos). And our own programmes are of a high standard (many award winning), and although we are a small operation we have a very slick presence. We also relay some material onto remote Aboriginal communities via the PAKAM network (Pilbara and Kimberley Aboriginal Media). We have a very special role in entertaining and exposing our audience to fresh media. We are definitely not mainstream but an important voice to the Kimberley region. If you would like your short film played on Goolarri TV and get another platform for people to see your work...please send it on. We can accept any data file or DVD and we can also accept Mini-DV and SP-Betacam. We also have a website www.gme.com.au For more information please contact me: Mark Cochrane, Producer/Director, Goolarri Media Enterprises, PO Box 2708, Broome, Western Australia 6725, Ph: (08) 919 55333, Fax: (08) 919 55351, markc@gme.com.au
